McBride-Owens has grown from a small local electrical operation into a trusted electrical and plumbing contractor serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout the Triad.

Was founded by longtime friends Scott McBride and Jody Owens. The two first met as classmates at West Davidson High School and later worked together at Lexington Furniture Brands and Thomas Built Buses.
In 2004, Scott and Jody earned their electrical licenses and began taking on electrical projects on the side, operating from Scott’s basement and an outbuilding. What started small quickly grew through new customers, repeat business, and referrals. Within two years, there was enough work for them to make McBride-Owens their full-time focus.
As the company continued to grow, Scott and Jody built lasting relationships with local commercial and residential builders and expanded their capabilities to better serve their customers.
In 2010, McBride-Owens added a plumbing division, giving customers the convenience of working with one dependable contractor for both electrical and plumbing services.
Continued growth led to the purchase of the company’s property on NC Hwy 150, with McBride-Owens moving into its current location in 2014.
Today, McBride-Owens has a team of more than 50 employees serving residential, commercial, and industrial customers throughout the Triad.
Providing both electrical and plumbing services allows McBride-Owens to offer customers something valuable: one experienced team capable of handling two critical trades. No matter the size of the job, we approach our work with the same attention to detail and commitment to getting it done right.
